Inside the Hall: Will Kevin Jones join IU’s 2008 class?

very good news indeed. better news would be that the mt vernon scholar-athlete already committed, but just hearing that he is still in love with all bloomington has to offer is very exciting. i can't wait to hear more on this nearing the end of the month. please tell me again, is kevin jones the player that has a direct tie-in to landing another recruit in lance stephenson...or is lance stephenson tied-in to a different recruit? sorry for the naivete, but i heard that there was a possible pair of indiana recruits that would base their decision partially, if not fully, on where they both agree to enroll. i think this may be for the 2009 class, but i'm uncertain. anyone know? thanks for the update Big A. i'm crossing my fingers on jones...this is the type of academic-athlete that would make the indiana faithful proud! tie-ins or not, i'm excited about jones. he would look good in the cream and crimson, and i think he would be more in love with the indiana fans once he puts on the jersey.

Thanks Big A I was thinking about this since TZ signed with UNC. I have not seen KJ play but at midnight madness he is built like a house, similar frame as DJ but seems to be more muscular. Nice going MSU and OSU...gotta be careful of the D2 schools.

If it is ideally IU, Pitt, and WV, I would say we have a strong chance. Our fan base may very well play a role in this one. Good job IU faithful.....

Ray, I believe that KJ was linked with his AAU teammate Mookie Jones who I believe committed to Syracuse. Syracuse not in the mix for KJ. But I think if KJ signs with IU that will be a very slight plus with Stephenson. Senderoff was our NY link, and as he is gone having 2 NY guys committ after Senderoff's resignation may give him more confidence with IU. In my opinion how we do this year is important. It looks like IU will be playing a style of play conducive to his game, and if we make final 4 or 8 and EJ & EJ go high in the draft, we will be in great shape with him.

I do not understand why anyone would think Kevin Jones will come to Indiana. All of the comments I have read from his brother about IU, while very respectful, are not enthusiastic.

I do not think there is a leader, but I do think the phone call problem will hurt IU's chances.

In my opinion, the phone call problem closed the door for this year's recruiting, but unless the NCAA imposes additional penalties, it should not affect next year's recruiting.
