Apparently the Big Ten Network's website will have the footage of senior night in full. If it's anything like the BTN's telecast tonight, DJ's face will be out of the video frame when he talks.

The Senior speeches after the game tonight were great. Adam Ahlfeld might have had the funniest, and longest speech ever. DJ was humble and grateful and thanked everyone. When he thanked Eric Gordon and called him "the other half of the best duo in college basketball" The entire crowd began chanting "One More Year" and as DJ Laughed Dakich ran out on to the court laughing and waving his arms to get the crowd to chant it louder haha.

They all talked a good game afterward about hanging another banner...lets see how hard they play and how badly they want it. I must admit, they played a lot tougher tonight and it seemed like maybe they aren't ready for this to end just yet.

What bothers me is we had TWO stretches of 4+ minutes without a field goal. With the talent on this team...that's a SIN! Sorry DD...you lost my support! Bring on the interviews!

he saw some major action in the 2nd half when stemler went out with 3 fouls (BIG SHOCK THERE!)...but he only saw 1:30 in the first half....what a shame! HE'S A STUD!

At least with Stemler, the other team has to worry about leaving him open beyond the arc. With Taber, they can simply not guard him, and free up a help-side defender to stop EJ/Bassett penetration.

I do like Taber's game though. He always plays within himself and seems adept at making the most out of his limited offensive opportunities. Great role player.

Man the Big 10 net needs to post the senior speeches, I mean I just watched Southern U win the SWAC bowling tournament on ESPN classic. FYI, if you have ever wondered what happens to fat girls from Wisconsin, they go to traditional black colleges on bowling scholarships

When I was home sick a few weeks ago, about the only thing on was Maryland Eastern Shore versus Vanderbilt (I think) in Women's Bowling. It was a hogging daydream. I couldn't believe that, in the middle of college basketball season, ESPN networks carry this stuff.

If the BTN were to post the speeches, I'm guessing there would have to be a bit of editing required.

Not just because of Adam's speech that lasted _____ minutes, but the "Fuck You Dakich!" 's, boos, and other chants when DD took the court, and the same went for when Greenspan was mentioned.

PS - How about Cheaney and the Dunkin' Dutchman being in attendance?

Yeah, when DD took the court...after people stopped cheering/whatnot, a few people booed, yelled "Fuck You Dakich" and "Get off the fuckin' court", etc., to which Dakich replied something to the notion of "Glad to see my family made it tonite"

and when Greenspan was mentioned, it was nothing but boos, to which Dakich said "Let's just try to keep this all on an upbeat note...."

I won't lie, I have been pretty upset with how many of the fans have acted throughout the year. I'm a student and have season tickets (this was one of the two games I didn't get) and get disgusted on a game-by-game basis by the behavior of most of the student section.

anyone that said "fuck you dakich" should have their tickets forever revoked from assembly hall. you may not like the guy, but he's inherited a pretty stressful situation. also, he turned in one of the most legendary performances in indiana history as a player so he at least deserves respect for that.

were those the same pieces of shit chanting "kel-vin samp-son"? i bet they were.

I'm a junior at IU and have yet to be NOT amazed when it comes to how stupid some students are with their chants, boos, then acting all mighty with "Well, If I were coach I would...", as they say something ludicrous

So, after last night's rants, the infamous "Fuck you refs" at UConn, etc., we should expect to see the IU Athletic Department form a designated "student section" in about.......well, never...

THAT DID NOT HAPPEN!!!! I was sitting courtside at the god damn game and when akich said "Glad to see my family made it" He was laughing about the HUGE ovation he got!!! If someone did yell that you CERTAINLY could not hear it through out the hall, maybe just up in your section.

Ha....Wow....alright, even if your ears didn't hear the yells at "Akich", as you seem to call him, then I hope those same ears heard all the "god damn" boos (as you would say) when Greenspan was mentioned, and if THIS didn't happen, then Helen Keller, I'll take back everything I said about it. Sorry.

Oh, Greenspan was booed but if you watch the video of when Dakich comes out you hear people yell for him and right before he makes the comment about his family you hear someone yell, "You're the man". People weren't cussing at Dakich.

so...let me get this straight...I can't call a kid who likes to fight a "thug"...BUT...we drop "F" bombs like they are as common as "the" "a" or "and"???? Wow...now that's....well, I'm not sure for a word yet, but I'll find one by the end of the day. Nevermind...I found it...F***ING RETARDED! I guess that's two words huh?

okay...while its fresh in my mind...see if you agree....
1. DEFENSE...what's that? How many OPEN 3's did Minn hit? Why did they hit them? Well, lets see...I'm 6'0" and I could shoot over the top of stemler and ellis and they have 7 and 8 inches on me. Why? Because when they close out to contest a 3 ball, they both put their hands in the stomach of the shooter instead of in the shooter's face. Speaking of Stemler, he might be the nicest kid on Earth, but if you are playing man to man defense, I'm pretty sure that implies that you must guard YOUR man, not someone else's. Each 3 that Coleman hit was because stemler was in the lane playing defense...when he was supposed to be guarding Coleman...when he closed out on Coleman, NOT ONCE did he get a hand UP...it was ALWAYS at his stomach.

2. OFFENSE...true story...my 5 y/o son plays "organized" basketball at the local YMCA. The offense he runs at Y-ball is more complicated than what I watched tonight. That is not a load of bullshit either! They Y-ball philosophy for 5 year olds is something like this...if you get the rebound take it to the other end of the court and shoot it as fast as you can before the other team gets back to play any kind of defense.

3. Bassett needs to learn how to DUNK the basketball...either that or how to go up strong and draw contact. Don't get me wrong, I love the kid, but I can only watch cupcake basketball for so long....(THIS WAS FOR YOU IRISHP!MP)

4. Did anyone notice the "mid-range" game that Gordon showed off tonight???? Yes...he shot a 15 footer from the elbow...the best part is....HE MADE IT!!!!

5. I am really gonna miss DJ!!!!!

6. Ellis needs to post up more! What a f***ing stud he is...when he's on the block! He's damn near unguardable (not sure if its a word, but who cares)

7. Take back anything I've ever said about DD being the guy for IU...I changed my mind.

8. I hope no one has their hopes up after this victory...we still can't play defense, our offense is...is...is....well see #2 above!

9. If we win two games in the B10 or NCAA's I'll get the IU symbol tatooed on my ass. That's 2 games in the big 10 and 2 games in the NCAA...for a total of 4 wins combined.
