1) Black and Gold looks terrible together.
2) VJ III keeps getting better, playing to his strengths, very nice game.
3) Tom Pritchard looked better than he has in a long time.
4) Kyle Taber had a solid game in his last trip to Mackey.
5) Our Hoosiers seem incapable of answering a run or stopping a run. It seems like any type of run by our opponents buries us.
6) Kind of felt like a win in the end....very odd.

Not odd at all! As good as PU is everyone expected an IU embarrassment but we lost but were not embarrassed. The future looks good and our day is coming!!!

Any time that IU can beat the Vegas point-spread I consider it a victory....wait til' the 2010 Hoosiers go into Mackey and dominate an upper-classmen filled Boiler squad.

Overall a good game. PU answered every time we tried to cut into the lead and they answered when Dumes jacked up missed 3's and turned the ball over. Was pleased Dumes didn't start. Now if we would just not play him...........

at this point i don't care if he plays or not. what bothers me about dumes is that raggedy, unkept looking t-shirt he wears under his game jersey. please coach, establish a dress code that prohibits this trashy look.

It was good to see Story get some serious PT and VJ3 becoming more consistent game to game. Maybe we can end the season with some really good things to set up next year if both these guys can step up

Pleased with our battling Hoosiers! Even after a quick turnaround from a bruising loss vs. Wisc. They played hard the whole time. That shows CHARACTER!!!

How about that screen by Pritchard? Hummel got his bell rung, somebody on PU needs to run laps for not calling that one out. I like Hummel's game even though he chose to be a sorry boilermaker.

Let the Crean/Painter rivalry begin. It will be a different ending next season.

I was hoping for a few shots to fall from Roth or Dumas,but they couldn't seem to get on track.

Loved Taber's effort & production today. Hope he brings it for NW too on Wed.

didn't get to see the game but it seems like we hung tough - glad to see pritch come back to life & taber play so well. 22 and 13 - one day soon hopefully that's ONE of our forwards (paging mr. watford)! - i like the move of starting story - does vj3 remind anyone else of aj guyton? hummel's one of those guys i hate, but i hate him because he isn't a hoosier. i'm disappointed for him this season that he's been out. anyway - i feel good heading in to wednesday!

VJ3 reminds me more of a young Devin Harris, w/o the defense. Nice to see Story get PT and play well.

Still looking for defense however and do not know who coming in can play it since highlights and stats are biased toward offense. Who did Hulls defend yesterday, was it man to man , what were the results ? These are the things I need to know to assess whether we are better than .500 next year

We will be better than .500. We have way too much talent and too good of coaching to be sub .500. Dickie V claims we will be a top 25 team next year. Hulls is an extremely good passer. Having a couple of true point guards next year to go along with some shooters such as Roth and multiple big guys and having an all around stud like Watford I think will lead to a successful season. And A.J. Guyton is a far better shooter than Jones will ever be.

Hope you are right but having Dickie on your side would worry me since he is all about hyperbole and not rational about basketball. Our non Top 25 freshmen are unlikely to work miracles however but in 2011 I look for top 10.

Rivers avg of 1 TO per 18 minutes and solid D will translate into at least 4 more W's by itself.

Not many will ever be as good a shooter as Guyton

Hey Kelin, you got any stats or notes on that B-town South game? Anyone see the game?

VJ, I believe would be much more effective off the ball that would allow him to hit those seams with less helpside D. He reminds me of Reggie Miller without the 3 shot.

Got point JerryCT, just having someone handle the ball more safely (i.e. Rivers) we would have definitely won more games this year and next year he will be available without having to wait for the normal freshman catch-up period. He is already battle tested and savvy. Throw in his leadership and look out B10.

Hmmmm. Silky makes a very interesting point about VJ off the ball.

This could actually work great enabling a lineup of Rivers, VJ, TP, Williams and Watford with a rotation of Rivers/Hulls( the points ), VJ/Dumes/Roth,( the scoring guards), Williams/Story/Creek( the quick forwards ), Watford/Elston( scoring forwards), TP/Capo/Bawa( the bangers ).

I think that VIII physically looks like Devin Harris but I'm up here in Madison and trust me fellas, their games are much dfiferent. Devin is twice as quick and a better long distance shooter.

Verdell has established himself as the best player on this team. He uses his length extremely well. Once he gets stronger he will hold on to the ball better and I expect that during the off-season.

I'm still convinced Rivers is the point next year. The way Verdell is scoring I can see him really challenging the starting shooting guard position. I thought that was a lock by Dumes but his attitude is lacking big time. I see him now as a scoring threat off the bench in 09-10.

How can Hulls national ranking not move up significantly? Word on the street is he completely controlled the game against DCC. If Verdell gets that #2 guard spot it frees up Jordan to claim the backup PG position. And we'll never have to see Moore again! I know a lot of you love Danny but he just doesn't have the tools to play at this level. I honestly think I'm a better shooter...but how can we know? He never takes an open shot.

Glad for Story getting the start. He's a tough match-up man and has a scorer's mentality. Our second unit over the next two years really will be a threat in the Big Ten.

Very impressed with you guys on Saturday. Verdell jones III is defintiely a token to build around. The broadcast really played up the future battles between him and Lewis Jackson as dueling freshman point guards.

Looking forward to things being set right next year when we get two meetings.
