I think it`s OK to play a couple of these games everyone does it. I think it helps a young team. Even Mighty Duke and North Carolina play cupcakes. Yhe only team that does not at least according to their fans I know is Purdue.

E, a little off subject, but I keep waiting for you to write an excellent "homer" piece for Fanhouse on the football game/bowl/insanity!!

I agree with you on Stemler as well....

I actually like the idea of Lance coming in the game off the bench. Sometimes you wonder if its not somewhat mental for him. ref. The missed layup and him getting frustrated.

The green light makes me nervous. I agree with PostmanE the idea of another equally athletic team makes me concerned. The three Gordon made off of the fast break was especially bad basketball under normal circumstances, when he still had a wide open lane to drive to the basket. However after watching three after three going in from everywhere I am now a believer that there is nothing normal about Gordon.

Bassett as well is playing very good basketball. And a controlled and polished Jordan may surprise us all before the end of the year.

Stemler doesnt add any value to this team. After watching DeAndre Thomas play, I believe Thomas has more upside potential for IU this season. The guy had a couple of really nice moves in the paint and a great entry pass to DJ White. Going back into last season, I cannot remember a game that I came away impressed with Stemler. Sampson needs to keep him on the bench and use him in a limited capacity.

I agree that Stemler should be coming off the bench but I still think he brings value to this team for one simple reason: He plays hard. He gets on the ball after loose balls and you can tell he's giving it 110% when he's out there. I'll never fault the guy for his lack of athletic ability if he's out there busting his tail. That's what Lance is doing.

I think right now, Stemler should be coming off the bench. But I wouldn't count him out of being in the starting lineup once the Big Ten season begins. As much as I love what Big Dre has done so far, he hasn't faced anything near as tough as what he will face in the Big Ten.

And I think Stemler's performance on Sunday, while nothing special against an inferior opponent, should help him gain back some confidence in his shooting touch. Now it would be a big help if he could repeat this performance tomorrow night and going forward.
