Inside the Hall: The ghost of Kelvin Sampson continues to haunt IU basketball

Well, we expected this right? Let's move forward with Crean and see what happens. I'm tired of seeing anything about Sampson and his connection with IU. His 15 minutes are past.

I like it that we've been proactive with the NCAA violations and the APR. We've anticipated the bad news, been willing to take the medicine and been able to move forward in good speed. Its too bad we had to do it, but I'm glad that we're putting behind us as quickly as possible.

Sampson is a Native American. His tribe is from the deep south ( one of the Carolinas maybe ). His father was a hero to the tribe as one of the men who took up arms to defend the tribe against the KKK. The incident got a lot of National coverage. Sampson was an example to the tribe of the success that can be had from hard work. Today, Sampson has shamed his family name and is a back-door-knockin, house-shoe-wearin, telephone-abusin, cheese-eatin dirtball cheater. He has fallen from grace. Just my opinion.

I wish ONE person, player, fan or anyone would sue KS for something. The scars he left on IU just never end and CTC is doing all he can to erase them. WHy this guy has a job in the NBA is beyond me....Oh wait...it's the NBA.

i like david williams alot more in light of this. he may be a two star(and rising) prospect, but he lists as a 5 star student from what i hear. IU basketball needs more STUDENT athletes like him.

Excellent point, Stephen! This is another reason the re-building process will take longer than our die-hards want to acknowledge. I'm no shill for CTC and want a banner just as badly as the next guy, but we can't overlook the entire landscape of issues involved with bringing this program back to life.
