Inside the Hall: Roger Franklin and Oklahoma State

This is not good news for Hoosier fans, did TC wait too long to offer Franklin?
  • hoosier07 · 1 year ago
Christian Watford or SVT better have an offer this weekend then!! TC can't wait around too long to offer or we may lose out ....
  • Alex · 1 year ago
Watford already has an offer. Also, I think Louisville is out of the mix for Watford; so it might come down to us and Memphis. (Still won't like our chances until I hear we're leading.)

    fudge i like franklin.

Watford will be playing for IU next year even if Frankin wasnt going to OK State
  • JerryCT · 1 year ago
We will know when IU and TC are back in the top 5 of programs when we donot lose a Franklin to the likes of Travis Ford and OSU. I would rather have lost him to Izzo or Michigan than a 1st yr coach at OSU.

I am still hoping however that Demling is wrong and that he just likes Ford
  • woodpecker · 1 year ago
IU does not have the likes of T. Boone Pickens providing "benefits" for the program! hehe!!!

I am going to listen to Roger Franklin more than Jody on this one. This kid has talked a ton about IU and Coach Crean and has had IU at or near the top of his list. THere is no way in hell OSU can trump what IU has to offer....
  • Alex · 1 year ago
I would agree to an extent, but Jody is likely just passing along information from a source close to the situation (AAU coach or a college coach). Like I said, things change often in recruiting, but you have to remember that when a recruit talks to a Web site affiliated with Indiana, you're going to get the impression that the kid really has IU high on his list.

I hate that I'm already so cynical and pessimistic about the season 5 months before it starts. But when I read the poll question, "Who will lead IU in scoring next season?", my brain immediately said, "every team we play."

    I'm depressed.
  • pacino · 1 year ago
I had a bad feelig that we would come out of this situation with all the choices in the world and end up with nothing.

Theres always van treese...........and his 6'10 and 6'8 younger and better teammates...

If it isnt Watford then seriously look at Chris Braswell taking the last scholarship. This is from an article on peegs about Creek in Vegas and transfering to Hargrave,

"One player Creek knows at Hargrave is 6-foot-8 power forward Chris Braswell, a highly ranked former Georgetown commit who will reclassify to the Class of 2009 at the Virginia prep school. Braswell is here in Vegas playing with Creek on DC Triple Threat. Recently Braswell mentioned Indiana has begun recruiting him and Creek has done a bit of lobbying himself for the Hoosiers.

"I have talked to him about it and he says he is interested," said Creek. "Hopefully we can pull that out. He is going to come to Indiana for an official visit. He is looking forward to it, we both are."
  • Alex · 1 year ago
I think Braswell is a legitimate option as well. It wouldn't surprise me to see him end up at IU.
  • woodpecker · 1 year ago
Lordy I hope Franklin or Watford will commit!
  • Kelin Blab · 1 year ago
The tough call is.....Franklin is a good good player but another wing guy.....we need BIGS...legit bigs, not Tijan projects....nothing against Tijan but I want more that 2ppg and 3reb.....09' is loaded with wings and guards.....
  • JerryCT · 1 year ago
Demling mentions that he heard SVT had a couple good games. This sounds luke warm to me. Still hoping for Franklin and Braswell in that order.

Very curious to see freshman Williams , who is somewhere, dependign on who you believe , between 6'2 and 6'5 leading in the scoring voting against Dumes who was actually a good scorer per minute played in Div 1 as a freshman at Eastern Mich and is more mature. If Williams can play forward then maybe he has a shot but the videos I saw show him as clearly a guard who will have his hands full getting PT.

Also given the number of minutes needed from Pritchard I think he has a chance just because of PT
  • Alex · 1 year ago
All reports from pickup this summer say that Williams and Dumes are far and away the two best players on the roster.
  • JerryCT · 1 year ago
Are Story, Jones , Pritchard also playing ?
  • Kelin Blab · 1 year ago
My fear for SVT coming to IU is he ends up getting a reception like Sean Cline....one of the only IU players I have ever heard being booed.....
  • student · 1 year ago
Sean Kline had 3 tough years at IU, but remember how clutch he was during the final four run? Imagine if he would've played that well more often.
  • student · 1 year ago
Wiliiams won't play forward, he'll probably play the 2 while Dumes brings the ball up. Jones is just too tiny to play right away. So one of the two of them should lead the team in scoring. No way will Pritchard lead us in scoring, every team will just crash down on him as soon as he gets the ball.
  • pacino · 1 year ago
We need to go after Braswell Harrd! He is our guy to get!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • pacino · 1 year ago
I agree with u Kelin Blab!! Ur absolutely right.
  • Mac79 · 1 year ago
Losing Franklin is horrible because he seemed to be the type of player IU needs both physically, mentally. Losing Franklin is probably causing TC to turn up the heat on Watford.
