Inside the Hall: Report: Rob Senderoff will resign

  • Mike H · 2 years ago
any word on the Ebanks front?
  • mike · 2 years ago
is it just me are does it feel like ebanks could be close to decommiting.
  • kelin · 2 years ago
I don't get that feeling. From what I read from Ebanks, he said he really likes IU and would come whether the coaches were there are not.

I think coach sampson has to visit Ebanks imediately and have a one on one talk, to show how much we care about him. I would be crushed if he leaves, because he stood up for us and layed the foundation for other new york based recruits. he goes they all go.

I believe the use of the phrase "fall guy" is premature. It insinuates that Coach Sampson's explanation of the events is fraudulent. We don't know that yet and we may never know. This is extremely poor journalism and I'm especially disappointed that "Inside the Hall" would use it as a poll topic.

    Kevin,

If you noticed, we used parentheses. These are not our words, they are the words of Jeff Goodman who reported the story for Fox Sports.

I would gladly give up Ebanks and NY kids for Zeller and Indiana kids.

He should have resigned from the start if he was the main culprit. If he had, maybe Greenspan would have not put as tough as restrictions on the position. He could have reported to the NCAA that the coach responsible for the mess resigned and still kept the sanctions on Sampson. Then IU could have waited to see if the NCAA placed any restrictions on that position, in the meantime a different person could be out recruiting. Now it locks us in those restrictions as Greenspan assumed Senderoff was going to remain on staff. Fall guy or not, I am one of the few who feels Sampson should go. Off topic: it's my understnding that there was a shooting during a party at a hotel in B'town over the weekend and several IU basketball players were there. Anybody else hear anything on this? I don't think any players were involved, but it doesn't help our image any if they were there.

I just want kids who want to play for IU. I don't care where they come from. There were plenty of Indiana kids who left our state who could care less about IU. Talent is talent.

    Mark-

Are you referring to this - http://www.tmnews.com/stories/2007/10/29/news.n... ?

It doesn't mention any basketball players, but that doesn't necessarily mean they weren't there.

I'm not voting in your poll because its bull. Senderoff isn't anyone's "fall guy", he's being punished for the rules HE broke and so are a lot of other people.
  • kelin · 2 years ago
I find it interesting it looks like Senderoff is holding a cell phone in his hand on the picture:)

    Kelin,

Indeed he is. I took that picture back in July and I was wondering when someone would mention that.

If Dakich will take over for Senderoff, I like it and it is another Indiana connection. I watched Doc play in high school in the region and I am sure he still has a lot of ties up there still. Although that is Purdue country, there is a ton of talent in that area.
