Inside the Hall: Q & A: Bobby Capobianco

  • msdiu81 · 1 year ago
If he likes Assembly Hall during AAU, imagine him playing in front of 17,000 every game. Sounds like this should be a good fit. I may have to start to get excited.

Sounds like he has good confidence in his game.

It's always nice to have a strong power player, if he does play like that i'll enjoy watching him.

Not to mention i'm pretty sure we now have an in with organized crime...that could come in handy....

This is why I love this site.....verbal today...interview today.....good job fellas.
Now get some scoop on Brian Bouchie???
  • Disco_Briscoe · 1 year ago
Scar Face was Cuban and it's Soprano and Di Nero...haha. Definitely Indiana born and raised...

Im just surprised no Copocabana jokes yet. Guess IM the the first....although Im not sure what that means.
  • BrianK · 1 year ago
Yeah I looked it it up and I think I broke a Man Law referencing a Barry Manilow song to one our basketball players. -10 man points. Sorry.

Oddly enough Bobby C.... played in a barnstorming game last year vs. IU....

    Short highlights but decent...........

"I may not be in Bloomington yet wearing the jersey yet, but I’m representing a school now. I’ve got to go out and prove that I deserve the spot that I have."

It would be foolish to not expect Tom Crean to be the first reason Bobby is choosing IU but I have to feel that he also has the right allegiance to IU and is proud to be at Indiana. He definitely sounds like the kind of player to start the rebuilding right away.

"I have a pull up jumpshot that I can rely on"

Wait a minute...you mean players actually still have pull up jumpshots? Seriously?

Sounds like a good land for the program. It's nice to see a guy who admits to liking to rebound the ball. Indiana needs a scrapper underneath like that. Hopefully he'll be a Matt Nover/Jeff Newton/Jared Jeffries in the Duke game in 2002 type player.

    There's a Q&A with Crean on Rivals.com, but it's for subscribers only.

Can anybody hook up the ITH community?

I do have a one or two questions. How many coaches has Ball stat had teh past 20 years and are we a magnet for them or what? Seems like everytime I read something about one of our assistants ( new and old), they were a Ball State Head coach for so many years. lol.
  • peaychris · 1 year ago
i am glad to see that he has a 3 pt shot but i would prefer him to stay with his back to the basket!! my feeling about IU basketball is so much better now than it was during the arkansas game... i was on sucide watch during that game!!
  • bobdub · 1 year ago
so this guy is another lance stemler? great! what does everyone think about isiah thomas being the 3rd asst. coach? i've heard that supposedly CTC would like someone connected to the program, such as a former player, to be the 3rd asst. I think ike could recruit, but I am worried that lately anything he touches dies. thoughts?
  • Kelin Blab · 1 year ago
Isiah as an assistant...mmmm let me give it some thought....HELL NO. If he wants someone that is connected with IU there are a ton of people better.......Whitman, Smart, Pat Knight etc.
  • bobdub · 1 year ago
yeah but i dont think knight or whitman would come, and i am indifferent between thomas and smart.

It is very important for our forwards to have a mid range jump shot. When Bassett /Crawford drive to the lane the guy can step out for the kick and pop. We never saw that this year since Gordon never kicked and sucked the drives away from Bassett.

What is the role of this assistant ? I could care less if the guy has IU ties, just that he kicks butt at his job

Capobianco seems like a good kid. He's reffed a lot of games for my 6th grader
and 3rd grader and seems to have a lot of fun with it. Lots of dunks during timeouts.
