Timmy, I like your response all except the liberal comment, has nothing to do with, trust me I stand on the left for obvious reasons, anyone making under 100,000 should too. Common sense would pass the test there but that too is my opinion...............

As for the question, its a jab by a no name reporter stuck covering Gopher bball, but ENLIGHTENED as a great journalist by this somewhat biased blog or whatever you want to call it. I think we all know there is NO NEWS on the NCAA investigation and to entice KS or bait him was childish and busch league at its best, if you guys call this GREAT journalism then once again my point about this site is coming true, thanks for backing my opinion with fact once again.............

I'm right there with you kna. I used to think this site was pretty good, but more and more it seems like every other blog is bringing up something from the past or trying to make some dumb point (the so called easy schedule). If you would try to remember that the people coming to this site are IU fans then maybe it would be more popular. And as for the line "we are just reporting news"....thats a load of shit. This isn't news here and wasn't even news in Minny. Keep trying to stir things up, I won't be reading it....

Lance Stemler can not be Token....he actually plays. Token must be given to the walk ons. Besides, havent any of you seen Lance out at the bars? Last year I saw him at Sports at least 3 times with baggy jeans, a XXXXL hoodie and sunglasses....real smooth. Huge shot he hit though. Amazing how that can change the way you feel about a guy. Another good one for Aahfield is Fan Boy. And my all time favorite nicknames go to Ryan Tapak and Mark Johnson....they will always be known as the "Mini-Hornsbys". All they can do is shoot threes but they just arent as good as Kyle.

I think a fair question might have been, "Any update on the NCAA investigation?" The question that was asked, however, was a "gotcha" question. I can understand why Sampson was annoyed.

And truthfully, Sampson has probably been told by Greenspan to keep his mouth shut in regards to the investigation.

And if that were the case, would you go behind your bosses back and make off-handed comments in regards to an ongoing investigation? Just to appease a few guys running a blog, or even a website like Peegs or Hoosier Nation?

My friends and I call Mike White "Hungry". I can't even say it's a nickname though. It's just a word that seems to fit. And it makes for ironic jokes about Mike White being "full" when he plays bad D or can't finish in the post.

I would agree with you if the question was designed to move the subject along. That guy though thought he was doing "hard hitting" journalism. It's not.

You want to bring up the infractions case? Then ask a question he can give a response to. Like "When the NCAA initially handed down the recruiting restrictions, you stated strongly that you and your staff were going to do a better job in this area. Now the NCAA is currently investigating self-reported violations in the same area. What have you and your staff done to achieve full compliance with this rule in particular and all recruiting rules generally?"

That's a great question. It's not a softball because it openly challenges him for failing to live up not only the rules, but to his own word. But at least it's a question that might bring out some new information, and comments that can be analyzed and broken down to the little reporter's heart's content. It's even a good question for lazy journalism because there's always a chance he'll do something stupid like repeat the "taking the rule seriously" comment he originally made.

But to basically ask, "Be honest, you're going to get fired at the end of the year right?" deserves far worse that what Sampson gave them, which was in fact a stock answer.

The NCAA situation hasn't had a real development since the case was filed. If something happens, then he should be asked about it.
