Live Blog: Barnstorming tour at New Albany

Started by PostmanR · 10 months ago

We’re just a couple of hours away from the IU recruit barnstorming tour getting underway at New Albany High School. I’ve heard from a few readers that will be in attendance, but for those of you who are unable to attend, you won’t have to go without your fix. I’ve got you covered right here.

  • Question for Jamarcus: I know he plays a lot of positions....what is his ideal position he anticipates playing for IU?
  • Would you ask DeAndre Thomas what adjustments he may have to make on his game if he's going to be playing, what, 60+ pounds lighter than last season?
  • Question for Jordan Crawford: What does he need to do to become a lock down defender on Big Ten guards?
  • Ask EJ if he is prepared to face the great Greg Hill of Purdue. LOL

Can't wait for the game tonight!
  • I've read on multiple message forums that a number of future IU targets will be playing WITH the IU recruits tonight. Any truth to this? I've heard everything from Mackey to Zeller, and even Ray MaCullum Jr.
  • Mackey and McCallum are expected to play with the recruits tonight. I think Zeller will play in another game.
  • Ask Eric Gordon if he reads ITH every day. If not, why not?
  • I second the question about what position Ellis sees himself playing this year. I know he was a guard @ JUCO but, considering his height and how deep we will be @ the guard positions this year, does he see himself playing primarily on the wing as a 3/SF?
  • One more: does Holman see himself playing the 5 or the 4?
  • Question for any IU recruit you speak to:
If you had to name one single factor that convinced you to attend IU, what would it be?
  • for bud mackey (if possible): do you think your iu socks might become a good luck charm?
  • Just wanted to let everyone know that the blog is live and ready to go. I'm being joined by C-J recruiting guru Jody Demling here at New Albany and he'll also be blogging over at the C-J's website.

  • I think an obvious question would be to ask Eric E.J. Gordon if he has any plans of sticking around regardless of how good this year goes.
  • That's a good question, but I'd rather not ask Eric a question like that. Let him focus on the season ahead and worry about that after the season ends. Let him enjoy being in college.
  • Man, I sure am disappointed that Jamarcus Ellis isn't there...hopefully he IS in the locker room...thanks for the hope ITH.
  • We'll know soon enough, but it's not looking good.
  • YES SIR!!!!!
  • Is there any reason why DeAndre Thomas isn't wearing a number? And also does it appear that he is reaching his weight goal?
  • Thomas looks good, he's now wearing #2, must have had a warmup on.
  • Has Eli done anything?
  • Yep, he's looked pretty good. Has a nice wingspan and he plays hard. He's kind of raw offensively.
  • Is Holman pretty lanky? I just read on Mr.Demling's blog that he is 7 for 7 with 14 pts...how many rebounds does he have? Also, do you think he can contribute, maybe immediately?
  • With the half almost here, who would you proclaim the player of the half?
  • I'd say Gordon or Holman have impressed me the most so far, but it's tough to tell when there's hardly any defense being played.
  • I'm really excited about Holman. I understand there's not being much D in these games, but I believe he'll be just as good, if not better, on the defensive side of the ball.
  • how did jordan crawford do in tonights game?what kind of impact do you think he have next year?
    goiu!!!!
  • We talked to Jordan Crawford, Brandon McGee, Bud Mackey, Armon Bassett and Lance Stemler. Over the next couple of days I'll be sure to give you the lowdown on what each of them said.
  • Thanks for the live blog. It was great. I didn't know that the teams weren't required to play defense in these games.
  • THANKS FOR THE LIVE BLOG
  • I was pretty impressed. Not that I am a big "wingspan" kind of guy, but Holman was really lanky and he had huge hands. Gordan was faster then I expected and had good touch. Pretty exciting to think the Hoosiers will have these guys on the court this winter.
  • Hey Thanks,great job.
  • Thanks a lot for the awesome coverage. You guys did a great job. Go Hoosiers!
  • Thanks for your outstanding live blog of the incoming IU recruits at NAHS. Glad to hear Lee Kelly assisted you and Jody D in getting a great job accomplished. We appreciate everyting you do to help cover IU basketball news!
  • Great great stuff! Wow this makes me even more giddy for the season to start, if thats even possible
