I read the column. It's like irony wasn't even trying.

I especially liked the mention of Ray McCallum being hired because he is a friend of Eric Sr. No mention that he was an assistant at OU under Sampson.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read the article this morning. A UK beat writer talking about how another program and/or it's coach is dirty.... Amazing.

Just for the record, Clay isn't a beat writer. He's a columnist and is paid to give his opinion. Not that I agree with his column today, but it's important to realize the distinction between reporter and columnist.

Wow. Just read his article. Laughable. Here's the thing - if you want to embarrass Sampson for his calls, go ahead. It was stupid, And he deserves it. I, for one, think there is a difference between doing something stupid, and breaking a rule, and just flat out cheating. I understand if others feel differently, however. But heres the deal -- I cannot stand it when people claim Sampson hired McCallum or Meyer just go get EJ. It's ridiculous. Ray McCallum is a great coach. I'm scared to death some other school is going to take him away, and soon. The same with Meyer. It's a joke to think they are here just for Gordon. Not only can they flat out coach, but they have some ridiculous combined amount of head coaching experience in the past AND they know the Indiana recruiting landscape much much better than Sampson does. That is why they are here: to coach and to help recruit in a state Sampson knew nothing about. Stop bashing our assistant coaches. Odds are they have forgotten more about basketball than you will ever know. And I GUARANTEE top programs across the nation are envious of our staff and it's talents and experience.

Sherron was not the most upstanding citizen while in Bloomington. Ironic that he posts smut about nothing. What are you doing now Wilk? I remember when you were stealing staplers from our business. Shortly after pouting about the all star snub. Chew had a monster attitude dude.

Even though I am a Kenucky fan, I don't blame you guys for blasting John Clay. I personally think that most of his columns are pure sh*t as well as irrelevant and I would like to see another columnist covering UK basketball.
