Kelvin Sampson would like you to know he’s innocent

Started by Alex · 9 months ago

The NCAA finally let IU respond back to its allegations. And well, the university didn’t agree with that whole “failure to monitor” bit. IU says Kelvin Sampson held back on just when, where and how he was going about his phone calls.

Kelvin Sampson don’t agree:
“In no way did I ever hide or withhold information from […] ... Continue reading »

  • Seriously plz let's just get past this mess. Either way I hate Sampson because after giving him a chance he should have followed the rules, simple as that. You can make X number of calls per week, X number of visits, you can't have your assistant call than 3-way you in or hand off to you: don't break 'em. I understand I do not have a complete understanding of the rules but he should have come NOWHERE NEAR the gray areas that may and probably do exist.

  • Lets just put it this in simple words FU Kelvin Sampson
  • no you're just a lying, cheating, no-good NCAA coach who knows that he will be banned from college basketball for life, so you ran to the NBA --

    F-U Kelvin!!!
  • "Kelvin Sampson don’t agree:"

DON'T AGREE??? Come on guy. I assume you are not english majors.
  • It's called "slang."
  • It's called, not knowing proper english.
  • tberry, rest assured, it's slang. And totally not worth arguing over.
  • Then why are you taking the your important time to defend it. I know, it is not a mistake , it's just koowel.
  • are you an english major??

because "taking the your important time" does not make sense either -- get off people's backs -- it's a blog, not an english class ...
  • In the article Ryan writes " I really don’t care who is right and who is wrong. I just want it done and over and whatever penalties are laid upon us to be laid upon us."
I could not disagree more. While being a very old Hoosier, I to want to see us move on and get to an new era of Indiana basketball. That has to take place. But the history of our school, our record of "doing things the right way for over 50 years needs to be preserved.
I do care who is right. I want people to know that Indiana University is the same proud university I attended many, many years ago. (Sorry, I pontificate) But we have to care about "who is right" and not simply take the easy or most expeditious way out and accept whatever comes our way.
  • Point taken. I guess I'm just off the piece of mind right now that we've already been slung through the mud regardless of our squeaky clean past. And specifics at this point aren't going to clean us up all of sudden -- even if it's all on Sampson.

Sampson was a part of IU; therefore, IU did not do things the right way.
  • He is a slippery dude isn't he. I guess he needs to be asked point blank:

"who in compliance did you tell about 3 way calls you were on and passed phones " ?

" if you told compliance did you tell them within 24 hours or within 1 week " ?

His choice of words is just too nuanced to ring true
  • The only people that are bringing this up are Illini fans trying to laugh at us while they can :P

Im still throughly convinced that the NCAA is focusing on universities it hates(us) and ignoring the big-time money making universities(USC). They chose to pick on us because we are a high caliber university, but we weren't exactly a football/basketball school at the time like USC was(along with the fact they were ranked #1 preseason).

Sorry, just me and my conspiracy theories :)

Btw, have you guys noticed some people on hoosier scoop really hate Bill Lynch? Gotta be joking...
  • R, you really went in the archives for that picture of Sampson...and I love it.
  • Sampson is total scum. If he would have just fessed up to cheating, I might have a shred of respect for the man. He's disgraced not only the Hoosiers, but his profession, and the entire game of basketball. Good riddance. Let him rot in the stink of the NBA.

I just want to know the final damage and move on...I think we all feel that way now.
  • HOOSIER HYSTERIA?

Any ITHers going? Some of my buddies and I are definitely going. I've always thought it would be cool to grab a few beers somewhere.
  • dddddddddddd
  • kelvin and OJ are in the same catergories for me... all thats missing is the white ford bronco
