IU has to do something to get KS ass...seriously. I am going to write the NCAA myself and tell them to BAN him from ever coaching college basketball again. Then I am going to send an email to the bucks front office. This is F-ing ridiculous.......if the NCAA comes down on IU for this I would sue everyone from greeny, ks, brand, senderoff, herbert...etc.

Do we know if they're just forfeiting the scholarships for this season or will this extend to the 2009 season?
  • Alex · 1 year ago
This is just for the upcoming season -- the NCAA penalties coming later this summer could include scholarship losses beyond this season. We'll just have to wait and see.

will this affect any current players? I don't think so.....?

The bright spot in all this is that, ladies and gentlemen, we have seen the abyss (and will live it over this next season) yet we will survive and move forward....if we can get through all of this crap and still emerge with a program that is upbeat and moving forward with the enthusiastic support of the fan base, we are going to emerge as a much stronger program - and the sky will be the limit. Remember Nietze - "that which does not kill me makes me stronger"....hey, just trying to be optimistic here :-)

are you kidding me?! This was not the news I wanted to read first thing in the morning after a night of binge drinking ... Big A, following up on Kelin's question, how will this affect this season's scholarship players?!
  • Alex · 1 year ago
It won't. There are still 10 scholarships available for the upcoming season and only eight players on scholarship in Bloomington.

I wasn't going to drink (that much) this July 4th....I'm getting hammered now...need to drown my cream and crimson sorrows...UGH!

Hey at least the football team gets a brand new field! GULP GULP GULP

I believe. Yes i really do. There is a conspsiracy against my beloved IU bball program. SOMEONE at the NCAA seems to have a bias against us so large it DEMANDS investigation by the legislature or congress or someone. Time to prod our local politicians ( they live for posturing anyway).

As Annie would say " The sun will come out tomorrow", because its Indiana.

All of this over phone calls. Who would have thought? In the eyes of the NCAA, the fact these kids were failing greatly in class has to reflect badly on the program. Were the teachers reporting any of this?

With or without the calls would we even have a roster full of eligible players for 2008? I don't understand how the entire IU community could fail to keep these kids in a decent academic standing.
