Inside the Hall: ITH Super Happy Fun Time Coaching Search: Scott Drew

    RE: CBS Sportine

If what Drew said was true, then I see it as simply pointing out why you would be the best choice. There is nothing negative about that unless you are the school that is shown to have negative attributes.

I think that article is the first time I've ever seen Bob Knight compared with the Pope.

Those "violations" are kind of weak. Rude, but weak. It's the same things fans say all the time. But then again, we just saw a guy get dragged through the fire for phone calls.

I'd say the lack of program building and March success would be the big strikes against Drew at this point, not so much the recruiting issues.

A good man and a good coach .........maybe... They lost 7 of 8 during one stretch of the B12.

I don't want "good" however I want "great", "legend" capacity type coach

I have a hard time thinking of anything that would rank him above any of the coaches already mentioned ( except Skiles ).

Right on Jerry, couldn't have said it better myself. We need the BEST candidate out there.

I don't know, I saw him on PTI one time and he kind of came off as a douchebag.
  • JerryCT · 1 year ago
Based on the last 3 coaches ,"douchebag" might in fact be our criterion...............I am hoping for better.

To feel better look at the Youtube video of Bennett discussing tonights game

Great interview. Thanks for the head's up. I'd be really excited if we got him as our coach. He's going to be great.

I mean it'd be a cool story if a kid from Indiana succeeded at IU and Drew fits that mold. But, he's not going to get hired, and he's got more to prove. I hope he does well at Baylor. I've also heard that he's not the most popular among Indiana high school coaches, though I'm not completely sure why. So whatever. Good guy. Hope he does well at Baylor.

Based on their style of play though, he wouldn't be very popular here.

For those of you wanting to SEE the games vs WATCH the games tonight you can easily search and find good explanations of 1. Pack line Defense and 2. Blocker Mover Offense on the net .

Both Miller and Bennett run the same Pack Line defense and similar blocker mover offense .

You all on ITH have motivated me to study this stuff to better know what I am seeing and talking about. I feel like I am less full of crap

    Thanks

I follow the time honored philosphy of " Blind them with B.S." myself.

bennett all the way. since i live on the west coast, i've had to watch that crap conference that is the pac 10. this guy's emotion on the sideline is raw and he will recruit like a monster. star potential. i would like to see him and painter arm wrestle over our state's elite.

scott drew is nice. but not a big time catch.

All right, you've convinced me. I can see Drew as a down-the-list-if-everyone-else-rejects-us hire, but I have to admit that your posts and comments have given me a slight man-crush on Tony Bennett and an inclination to pull for a Sean Miller hire if Bennett doesn't work out. Now that Wazzu's out...aw, what am I thinking? A 10-person committee can't move that fast, can it?
