First off, its a white out. You guys are the only ones I've ever heard this stipe out thing from, and face it, you aren't that influential. IUHoosiers.com is promoting a white out. It's not going to happen, but I would much rather have a Crimson Out, especially against Kentucky. We've already had three white outs the past two years, and they are apparently planning two more for later this season. Why not crimson?

Additionally, I think Coach Sampson should not wear a blue shirt on Saturday like he always does. Most of you are going to say, "Who cares?" But, well, I do. It's stupid for him to be wearing a shirt the color of one of our biggest rivals every game, and more so when we play them. He's at a school where the colors are cream and crimson. I guarantee you won't see Billy wearing a red shirt on Saturday.

Hound:

The stripe out was originated by a group of students like two months ago. Their movement gained a sufficient amount of steam to the point that the other night, when a white out was announced, students started to boo. We really had nothing to do with it at all; we were just talking about it because of the conflict between students and the athletics dept. (You are right, though: We're not at all influential.)

The stripe out had more legs than the white out until the IU athletic department announced the white out recently.

Personally, I'm not sure what the point of having a stripe out or a white out is, but hey, what do I know?

Not bad for a first podcast. Maybe a little too long.

For me the rivalry was always with Purdue - maybe that had to do with the fact that I didn't grow up in S. Indiana. I had some friends who were Purdue fans, later graduates and maybe that helped fuel it.

Not to say that I like Kentucky or anything like that, I generally just don't like them. It doesn't matter who they play, in what sport, etc. I just don't like them.

One other not-so-serious gripe: Weezer? How about a little Spoon? Maybe The Go! Team? Something that doesn't remind me of high school? :)

The white-out is unlikely to be replaced for several reasons.
-Red dye in fabric can irritate the paper-thin skin of 130-year old season ticket holders.
-All the "good old boy" Knight fans can come straight from the Klan rally and only have to remove their hoods before the game.
-Red would really up the chance of burn-in on the trustees' 138" HDTVs.
-Because "white" and "cream" are the same color. No, they are. Trust us. Shut up.
-What better way to show the nation what crazy fans IU has than by WEARING SHIRTS THAT ARE THE SAME COLOR?!?! What? Clap louder? Scream? St-Stand up? My God, you're out of your minds!
