Inside the Hall: Hoosiers will host Terps in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

I agree alex, what a dud game......but it is to be expected. I still want another shot at Duke.....would be big win for a young team.......

I'll take a dud match-up, I want wins now and the prestige games can come later. A young team needs some confidence.

Although the Terps have been a little down lately, I hardly view playing them as a dud. True, its not as exciting as UNC or Duke (which, btw, are games we wouldn't win) After those two, do any ACC teams have any more juice than MD? I don't think so. Games against Miami, Clemson, FSU or NC State would be duds from an anticipation point of view, but the Terrapins are a quality opponent and a team we might be able to beat. So I am looking forward to it myself.

it may lack the flash of a possible Duke/UNC/Wake match-up, but given who we should be next fall, this seems like a good fit. Maryland will be a solid team and will help our RPI and, at home, we could win. I'll take a victory (or a close loss) against a mid-top tier ACC team over a loss like last year's...& it's about ratings, and as someone pointed out, coming off a 6-25 season, it'd be illogical to expect ESPN to schedule us against one of the top ACC teams. Of course, in 2010/2011, I fully expect to see us in there versus Duke or UNC. Still, next year, it could be worse: we could be playing Virginia or NC State or Virginia Tech.

    Sorry Kelin but not true.

We played them the very next year at COnseco. We were behind the entire game and Klein ?? actually came in and hit some critical FT's to send us to overtime. Blake hit a half court shot at the buzzer which was not allowed at end of regulation.

Coverdale ate up Blake with a near perfect floor game. I remember this well since I brought friends from Md to Indy for the game and sat right behind Gov Obannon. It seems like yesterday.

I think this is a great game for us becasue we have a history with them and they are a well respected team despite their recent record ( win over UNC this past year ) and who else in the ACC is as interesting and winnable at the same time.

I just got an email from those MD guys and they are excited to be coming back.

Sorry Kelin but you are forgetting the OT game at Conseco. I invited some of my MD friends to the game and we sat behind Governor OBannon. Best seats in the best place I have ever seen a basketball game.

We made a bet that went like this:

    1) If IU wins, the MD guys had to drive around for a year with one of those IU Basketball license plates on their cars

    .....................But.....................

    2) If MD wins, we had to drive around with IU Football license plates on our cars.

The joke of this bet hurts. Really glad we won. COverdale outplayed S Blake as the key to the win as he turned Blake over several times while he was nearly perfect.

My Md friends are already sending me emails and planning to enjoy AH

    FWIW

We IU guys had a bet last time with the MD guys like this.

If IU wins , they drive for a year with IU basketball license plates on their car.

If MD wins, we drive for a year with IU football license plates on our cars.

    Thanks God we won !

I'll take a better shot at getting a win over a marquee game we've got no shot at, at least for one more season. The incoming class will make us more talented, but IU is still a club with 2 juco seniors, one junior, and a bunch of sophmores and freshman.

Beyond IU's game with Maryland, does anyone think this is finally the year the Big Ten manages to win this thing? I think Duke will have little problem with Wisconsin, but few of the other games seem to be horrible mismatches in the ACC's favor.
