    Be careful Hoosiers....

First MSU, Then OSU, Then KY, now USC and OJ Meyo
  • Big A · 2 years ago
Mayo had his typical stat line: 32 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and EIGHT turnovers. And by the way, he had to take 27 shots to get his points.

A game is just not a game without fish doing it.....thanks comcast and btn.....not only can I not watch it but I can't hear fish say "got it"

    Kelin,

I believe Fish was at the Northwestern football game. So far the Hoosiers are looking fine on defense, but they're still giving up too many open looks, especially to a Division II team.

    Someone post the score please

    Halftime: IU 52 - UNCP - 35

    Gordon 24 points
  • Big A · 2 years ago
52-35 IU, Gordon has 24, I'll post Sampson's comments momentarily...
  • Big A · 2 years ago
Sampson: "We've gotta get better on defense. Sometimes young kids think defense is getting a steal. We're working hard on the first five or ten seconds. But after ten or fifteen seconds, this team is a patient team, they're going to take the offense deep into the shot clock. We've gotta be disciplined enough to play the whole shot clock."

He was then asked about Eric Gordon. He smiled, paused and said "Helluva player."

    ------

I have to echo Sampson's comments. Too many easy shots were given up, despite the 17-point lead. On the perimeter, Gordon was the only player who showed me solid on the ball defense. Crawford didn't play particularly well on either end of the floor. He looked to be forcing the issue offensively. Bassett was very solid offensively. Stemler seems to be playing better than the first game. D.J. is playing solid, but needs to step it up from the foul line. As I said in the pregame, there's no question that Indiana can score, but can they play defense consistently?

    Big A,

I'm on the radio, do you have the BTN? What happened when Bassett when down? Did it look bad?
  • Big A · 2 years ago
He walked off grimacing, but my guess him going to the locker room early was precautionary more than anything else. Yes, I do have the BTN.
  • Big A · 2 years ago
Bassett is not in the game and not on the bench. BTN has no further updates on his status.
  • Hoosier Hound · 2 years ago
What does it mean when they tell you what direction the team is going "on your radio dial"? Fish told me what direction they were going "on the radio dial" at the start of the football game today too. Either way, I can't see it, so what is the point.

    Bassett will not return tonight.

    Hound,

I've always wondered that myself, but a lot of announcers seem to bring that up. What relevance it has, I'm not really sure.

Pacers lose to the Nuggets 113-106 after leading by 25 in the second quarter. Pacers shot the lights out in the first half, then started turning it over like the Fightin' Spatulas in the second half.

    I hate the NBA.
  • kelin · 2 years ago
I guess the announcers are telling you what direction they are going because they know most of us are getting screwed by comcast or btn and cannot see the game but yet we can watch it while we flip back and forth between lifetime and the food channel...........(little pissed about this if you can't tell)

On a side note....I grew up on listening to fish and leary doesn't even sound the same without him.......fish your bread is buttered at Assembly, get a sub next time.....it's just Northwestern.....tough loss today

    IU 111 UNCP 62 Final

Lights out from 3-pt range again, these guys can really shoot. Not sure how much better the defense was, but less points and a lot of blocks. Radio guys made a point that they were out jumping Pembroke for rebounds and not blocking out, so that is no better than last game. Good win, but just an exhibitiong game.

I.U. has a great team that will be shaking up the nation this year. Shame on the Big Ten Conf. It's all about their (over stuffed) bottom line and not the college, players or the fans. I guess I'll be listening to I.U. and watching Butler Bulldogs, IUPUI and the Grayhounds.
