    Not a great start, but at least both EJ and DJ are active. DJ needs to hit those shots. EJ needs to hang on to the ball.

    If Jamarcus had any sort of basketball IQ, he'd have a handful of triple-doubles already...he's killing us. Grab the bench.

    why is it that gordon can do one of (or should i say a lot of) his run through the lane, realize he has nowhere to go, and toss the ball in the air expecting a foul to be called...okay, let me just put it this way...why do we lick all over eric gordon's jock when he turns the ball over again and again, but when someone else does it they're worthless.

    i'm curious...i seriously think gordon had more turnovers tonight than jamarcus ellis. not only tonight, but he may have the most turnovers on the entire team. i'll have to look into that.

    anyway, i still can't believe you're stating that jamarcus ellis has no basketball iq!!!!!

    jamarcus ellis on the season 100 assists 69 turnovers

    eric gordon on the season 62 assists 86 turnovers

    in all fairness...this may not include tonight's totals

    if not, add 6 turnovers to je and 5 to ej and throw in 3 more assists for ej

    yes, it was a very ugly game...even bassett had 5 to's tonight.

    Easy killer. I see your point, but calm down. Maybe he has SOME IQ...but it's not showing through lately.

    Jamarcus is a great athlete and makes great athletic plays...but just as much he screws that athleticism up with silly shots and horrible passes. Not every bonehead play is a turnover.

    I never said Gordon was the bball IQ genius. Gordon makes plenty of mistakes himself, but if you want to look at what he does....he doesn't jack up 30 shots a game (even though he'd be allowed to)....rarely takes a bad shot, penetrates and draws fouls (look at all his free throw attempts).

    Both get out of control...but lately we've been seeing much more positive results from EJ than Jamarcus...he's trying to do too much and he's mental mistakes are a result of mental breakdowns, not attempting to penetrate the defense...etc...

    And yes, it's a lot easier to forgive a guy who hits from anywhere on the court, gets to the line and hits as many free throws as he does...that's just our nature.

    OK ESPN, this IS NOT BASEBALL. You don't have 10 minutes between plays to talk about stuff that is not related to the actual play on the court. Give me play by play you idiots. I usually like Lavin, but geez. Musburger and Lavin are tanking what could be a great game to call.

    Taber's inclusion is the reason for this team finally gelling.

    I'll fight that to the death. The tip-out he just had to EJ shows why he needs to play 25 minutes a game.

    Hey...Taber is the answer to our four man problem. I never thought I'd say that...but he's doing a great job. The only thing that sucks is that means we have two guys who CANNOT shoot on the floor with Ellis and Taber. Stemler and Taber need to be getting the four man minutes.

    This happens at the end of every damn game...we forget how to rebound and give up offensive rebounds out the rear end...I want to see a statistic that shows our rebounding (or lack thereof) at the end of a game

    Personally, I like the scenario playing in my head. Tomorrow morning, KS goes into Greenspan's office.

    KS: Last night was great for me. Was it good for you?
    RG: Well, I can't really comment on that due to the ongoing investigation.
    KS: Listen. I screwed up. But, the last two games has been by far the best of my career. Assembly Hall has never been louder. IU players have rarely played with such fire.
    RG: Again, I can neither confirm nor deny.
    KS: (Grabbing RG's leg) Please, let me keep my job. Zero tolerance. I'll even let you buy me a prepaid phone. One of those pre-teen phones where it can only call out to certain numbers. PLEASE!
    RG: Well....

    Top Ten Purdue Excuses: My response in parenthesis

    1.) Your coach is a cheater. (He cheated to win this game? Right.)
    2.) You got homer referees (Oh really? We hired them?)
    3.) It was at Assembly Hall (We made the schedule?)
    4.) You haven't played anybody. (You mean...we STILL haven't played anybody)
    5.) Your coach is a cheater. (Are you on the NCAA rules committee?)
    6.) Our guys are freshmen...you've had longer to build team chemistry. (Oh, so two JUCO players, two seniors with one year of experience, a sophomore, two freshmen, a senior who's been injured his whole career, and a walk-on equal chemistry?)
    7.) Your coach is a cheater. (I hear you now...but seriously...is this the best you can do?)
    8.) DJ faked his injury. (Yeah that was the plan...DJ goes down at the beginning of the Michigan State game just to throw you off.
    9.) Your coach is a cheater (I get it...Cellvin Sanctions...it's funny...but did he hit a jumpshot?)
    10.) Two words man. Kyle Taber (Yeah...I hear you now!)

    bassett was great! dj was his usual man-beast (but with a sore knee). i think eric gordon had a double double...but one of those was in the category of turn overs. still, he made plays (drives to the bucket and solid free throw shooting) that kept indiana in the lead. taber played very effectively...i was impressed once again.

    i love lavin...always have...like him even better after the nomination of dj white for national player of the year!

    As much as he drives me crazy, I love how Crawford has no conscience at the end of the game. He may not have scored up until that point but he has complete confidence he will knock down the free throws (which he then does).

    I feel this will not have a positive reception, but Kelvin Sampson is the best coach we have had since a younger Bob Knight(89-90). I wish he made better choices, but I say keep Sampson until the end of the year and let DJ have one year that he has a chance to be successful. He has given too much too this program to lose his coach(again) because IU wants to save face. I don't support Sampson's actions but I feel our player deserve a chance. DJ did put trust in our program and university and deserves a chance to relish in the glory that was created by his play and not Sampson's phone calls.
