Having seen a practice, he seemed to be doing what KS wanted. But if you notice from picture 5 to 6 there was no collapse on the cutter. In fact, whoever is standing in the middle of the key in #5 (I can't tell from the picture) actually seems to be farther from the ball in #6. Of course, helping in that way means that a man will be left open, but an uncontested 3 is better than an uncontested layup any day.

Re: Film Session: Defending the back door cut

Come on now-- this article is just silly-- do you really think that anyone reading on here is thinking "what is a back-door cut?". Maybe some pictures would help.

Moreover, the article is titled, "Defending the back door cut" but offers nothing on why this cut was open (e.g., was D.J. out of position or was was he told to deny the ball reversal as IU often did last year) and how IU intends to defend it(e.g. is DJ not supposed to follow his man past the ball when moving away from the basket or was he supposed to rely on backside help)....

Re: Film Session: Defending the back door cut

Ummmmm... because it's an IU basketball blog and not an IU football blog?

Re: Film Session: Defending the back door cut

Playin 13 4 Hep...

Re: Film Session: Defending the back door cut

WHY AREN'T YOU TALKING ABOUT THE IU-PURDUE GAME?
