I mean, I'm from Maryland, and I absolutely hate Duke and JJ with every ounce of my being, but the dude could shoot the lights out.

As a freshman, Redick had little more than a jump shot that he could probably shoot accurately from mid court. But by his senior year, he could do alot of other things pretty well.

I mean it might be a stretch, but from the video I've seen of Roth, he seems like the same type of player, and his shot is ridiculous. He was hitting one contested tre' after another. I would love to see him mature into the type of player Redick was. I just hope he's hitting the gym every day because his body isn't exactly big ten ready at this point.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

The end of season rankings are all that matters.
All of the recruiting hype does little more than create jobs and dollars for a few prognosticators and kills a lot of time for those of us who continually read their rants.
Has anyone noticed lately, many of the teams doing well in recent NCAA tournaments have done so without highly acclaimed recruiting classes. In effect, their recruiting classes, going forward, will get a better look from the prognosticators, due to their tournament success, thus higher recruiting class ratings.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

I have a 3pointer man crush on Matt "freakin'" Roth. This kid might be flying waaay under the radar with a lot of people including IU fans. I think he is a lot more than a 3pt shooter.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

Alan,

Ivan Renko, for sure.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

Which of these four do you think will be the first to be booed by IU fans?

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

Great Ivan Renko reference. I also like hearing the comment on Matt Roth that he is going to be a lot better than people think.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

You love using Matt Roth pictures. I think you have a crush on him. A healthy, three-point loving man crush.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

the ivan renko story is my all time favorite bobby story. it's just hilarious and amazing. i still laugh every time when i hear it.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

Jordan,

Gotta agree with you on "Clark in the dark's" rankings. I only mentioned him for a couple of reasons:

1. He's been around forever and he does see a lot of players.
2. It was an opportunity to bring up one of my favorite recruits, Ivan Renko.

I also found it curious that he doesn't include Matt Roth as committed to Indiana.

Re: Experts weigh in on 2008 recruiting class

Disregard Clark Francis' rankings. His system is based off of points, so as long as you have decent recruits, the more you have the higher you are ranked...Wake Forest has three 5-star recruits (3 of the top 24 players in the nation per Rivals) and they were tied for 18th on his list. Yeah...
