Not to get off topic, but I wouldn't touch Beasley or Mayo with a ten foot pole....regarding EJ, I think he would do a lot better in a small market where he can grow into his relationship with the press....he needs a little time, throwing him to the wolves in NYC might impact his ability to stay focused as he deals with the inevitable potholes and adjustments of a rookie in the NBA

I have given up on getting another BIG this season and chalked up this year as my year to get to know this team and just want them to play hard....beat Purdue, KY, and Illinois TWICE and I will be happy and stay out of trouble............I can wait on Bobby C and D. Elston whom I love.....not to mention Hulls, Rivers, and Mo Creek....09' will be a good year.

Like me you are probably hoping TC gets another BIG such that we can give Pritchard a rest and also enable him to use his physical game inside. I am very very high on Pritchard . He carried his team this year w/o Roe and was Plain Dealer POY.

Story, Williams, Jobe donot seem to me to be able to do what he does ...................thus, when Pritchard goes out for a rest we will have to dramatically change our style of play , especially on defense.

I guess I want to win NOW and do not want to concede the season

It's definitely refreshing that he is humble, I do wish he would try to script his answers less and like we've all said, just be himself.

He'll improve as his career goes along, and knowing the PR people for the teams in the NBA they'll definitely coach him up on how to just relax and be himself.

Jerry I have heard Miam and Riley don't want any part of beasley. says he's a little Charles Barkley immature..........I think they will go for Mayo to pair with Wade...my hope for Ej is not to go to the bucks but land in a smaller market....like Indy?

Newsday yesterday in NYC predicts the Knicks will go for Mayo, no mention of Gordon, could be pre draft ruse but I doubt it. There could be some major trades as well to reunite Dantoni w Shawn Marion. SHould be interesting

Wow I feel the same way.........Now he has gotten better but I notice he replaced his "I mean" with "you know". The good thing about this is, EJ is Ej, given all the spotlight he has had for years, he is still the soft spoken quite kid who hates interviews and just wants to play the game. I don't think he will ever be anything different so don't expect the pepsi or nike commercials.........

It's funny you'd say that. I actually thought that he did a little better in this interview than he has in some past interviews. I get nervous for him whenever he is interviewed. In a way, I like that about him. He is humble. But you are right, he just needs to relax and enjoy the interview. There are many more to come.

Not trying to bash EJ, I mean this more out of humor, but have you ever seen anyone look more nervous in an interview:)

I work in PR and have worked for pro teams and with pro athletes, some directely out of high school and am not sure I've seen anyone seems so nervous.

Actually I don't think it's even nerves with him, it seemed like he was trying to craft each answer so carefully that he just kept fumbling over his words.

Relax EJ and just be yourself, let your personality come through. It will be a better interview and you'll have more fun!

I'm not as confident as you are that both coaches knew what was going on. He started his answer with "I think", then changed it to say they both knew. After all that has happened with Sampson, I don't trust how his recruitment was handled. I also think he doesn't want to bad mouth Sampson as he may go to the Bucks and I think they have a strong bond; especially since KS let him do whatever he wanted. That being said I wish him nothing but the best.
