I was reading some graduation rates for BBall this mornin...Rick Barnes 33%, Calapari 40%, Pearl 33%...UNC was the only number one seed over 50%. I forget what Sean miller had but it was one of the best, way far bettah than UNC.

I certainly hope that we do get some good news soon. DJ has been inspirational this year, he exceeded my expectations. Losing DJ and top recruits with the NCAA yet to weigh in is not inspiring hope for next year.

Me? No. I liked Recker. I was disappointed when he left and sad when he got hurt. I think if he hadn't gone back to Iowa, things would have been a lot different with Recker.

Memphis is a great program with a great coach. Some of us need to quit slandering Calipari and worry about who our next coach will be. For the record Cal was cleared of any wrong doing by the NCAA. He is not the one who has been caught cheating and lying, twice. Bring back Bobby!

Good question kellin. I think D.J. White deservedly winning big ten player of the year would be the last good thing I could think of.

As for Ebanks, I wish him well and don't blame him for changing his mind. Hopefully IU fans can show class and not boo the kid should he ever come to IU to play for another team, (which seems very unlikely.)

I don't particularly like one-and-dones either. But let's be honest. In the current state of basketball, unless lightning strikes and you get 5 solid players like a Wisconsin or Purdue, superstars raise the level of any program (see Oden or Conley from OSU, or Beasley at KSU). Like it or not, the instant success they inject into a program means that that school is on everyone's radar, which matters to high school kids. In this case, I think we can live without Ebanks, and if that's our worst loss from the Sampson fallout, then so be it.

So maybe we should hire Rick Barnes? Then we have a coach he likes plus a school he was already planning on attending? Too bad Barnes is good friends with Knight. I know some people have called him an underachiever but I kind of like the guy.

I just find it interesting that all of a sudden Calipari is interested in this kid. I mean, Indiana has a basketball program. Rutgers? And Miami (FL)? That's all the offers he got, and now suddenly he's being courted by the team that spent a large chunk of the season at Number One?

Do we need to call the EPA to clean up the oil slick coming out of Memphis?

Whether Ebanks comes or not is the least of our worries. Right now our main concern ought to be who IU hires for our next coach.

Players come and players go and really great player are always ready to go. We need someone who can and will build a solid, continuing program that is consistently the best. To get a coach who can build a program that is consistently the best, we need a coach who's record shows that he has been consistently the best.

Rutgers was on his final list back in November (along with Miami, FL). That's probably part of the reason he's still listing them. I'd call it a huge upset if he doesn't end up at Memphis.
