I agree, Brad... In addition, KI has made it pretty clear his recruitment is about more than facilities and coaches... He wants academics, a feeling of family, etc. If anything, its nice that he's not raving about a visit to a major program like UConn...

What exactly was Irving going to say about the UCONN visit? "Yeah that place sucks. The coach is an old man and the facilities are crap" No, he is going to be politically correct and say a couple of nice things. No where does he say he loves UCONN or they are at the top of my list. His response is actually pretty general and ho-hum.

FYI on Zagsblog.net. June 1st, Kyrie Irving said this about Indiana:
“They’re at the top of my list for now,” Irving said in a phone interview.
“It’s them and Notre Dame and Duke and Virginia. They're at the top
of my list right now.”

The on June 7th, he said this about his visit to UConn:
“I liked the court and the facilities,” Irving wrote in a text message.
“The coaching staff, they were really passionate and informative.”

Guess at this point he don't know what he wants

What I don't like about him is it seems he doesn't get it. If he plays within Crean's system he can be regarded as the guy. Crean is going to make our team a running team. If Crean has a tall but gifted big man who can run up and down the court, that individual is going to have plenty of chances to dunk the ball and get easy baskets. If we also land irving I believe we actually have a shot to make a long run into the tournament.
I think he's an idiot because I think he is the type of kid that will choose depaul one day, then choose UCLA the next. I think IU is out because I honestly think he believes that going instate wouldn't be the "cool" thing to do. I hope I'm wrong though.

hmmm...I'm doubtful he ever suits up for IU & I'm not sure that's terrible news. He wants to be the focus of the team, from his recruitment all the way to the way to game time, with him being the focal point of the offense & that won't happen at IU. I'm sorry, but when I take a look at some of the guys we're recruiting, I want to see some passion or fire to be a part of IU and DF doesn't have it. And that's fine. He seems like a L-ville kid to me anyway!

What is scary here is that he mentions off the top of his head Florida and Texas as the first 2. I really donot want Donovan or Barnes getting traction in recruiting IN kids. That would be bad news

If he goes to DePaul, it would be a stunner but you will NEVER hear from him again. I still say he is NOT coming to IU. There is some underlying issue with LN and IU kids, could be wrong, may be speculation but just a gut feeling...

He's tight with Tracy Webster, formerly at UK. I can only assume Webster had a big part in recruiting him to UK. It will be interesting if Depaul starts dominating recruiting in Chicago.

I would think DePaul because he can be one and done there. Wilson Chandler plays for the Knicks came from DePaul after only a couple seasons there, so maybe he thinks it's a pathway to the NBA. Maybe him and Mark Aquire are tight. Plus he may be the guy to help Wainright keep his job.
