    Hey,

Whats up with Steven Gambles? Was there a post on him and I didn't see it? Looks like he is a walkon for this years team.....
  • Alex · 1 year ago
Yes, he is walking-on. Won't be eligible until the second semester. We'll try to put something together soon on the walk-ons.

Well, there are rumors Cheek still wants to come to IU, as he scheduled a visit, anybody hear anything about this?
  • Alex · 1 year ago
He'll take an official to Indiana, but it looks like he'll end up at Villanova, Kansas or Wake Forest.

If we get Crosby do we lose out on Teague for the next year?
  • Alex · 1 year ago
Not necessarily. IU doesn't have any recruits committed for 2010 and the staff is looking to pick up some commitments that make sense for that class. Cosby is a little bit under the radar because he sat out last season due to a transfer. As someone who has watched him play and has talked to several people who know him well, I can say that he's got a chance to be a very good player and is an intelligent kid who does things the right way. You can never have too many of those.

Yea, I've heard several people say Villanova is the team to beat for Cheek, but a man can dream ehh? The person i'm looking up right now is Deshaun Thomas, he goes to school about 15 minutes from where I live, so yea. He says his commitment to Ohio State is soft, and he utterly dominates anyone he is facing, including my high school :P

Saw him over the summer and while the talent was there, he didn't seem like a guy who goes after it 100% all of the time. Maybe it was just the AAU scene, but I've had a few other people tell me the same thing.

He aint gunna be nuthin but a buckeye. I played with him over the summer.

Im assuming you live in Fort Wayne?
  • Taskmaster75 · 1 year ago
I'm pretty sure the reason he doesn't put much effort into it is because he doesn't have to. The level of competition he plays with is lower compared to many other recruits, but perhaps i am wrong.

We might not even try to recruit him, I've heard his 8th grade coach say when he entered high school, he couldn't read, which means his grades aren't going to be great, wonder how Crean will interpret this.

And yes, i do live in Fort Wayne

ya. I heard he isn't the brightest kid.
