Good, Bad and Ugly: Loyola (Md.)
-I know this isn't a football blog but its looking like the Hoosiers are getting Jerimy Finch transferring from Florida. He was the top safety prospect coming out of high school and has since converted to linebacker. This may be the best player to come here in years.
What he's lacking is strength and strength alone and there's a chance that he will never have the strength to really thrive at the high D1 level especially in the Big Ten but if he can add weight and strength then watch out because the talent is there and it's high quality.
Neither Indiana or Marquette were on his radar before, but hey, we have TONS off playing time to offer. A guy can always dream right?
Got some sweet gov't cash......
Off tomorrow..............
Sweet Rally for B.O. here in Indy.....
and to top it off............I thought we had NO shot a verdell jones and BOO YOW...he signs with IU......look at how things have changed....
We started with
G. Bud Macky
F. D. Ebanks
G. Matt Roth
F/C T. Pritchard
We now have...
G. V.Jones
G. D. Dumas
F. Nick Williams
G. Matt Roth
F. Tom Pritchard
Helluva class...........Helluva turnaround by crean..........Would like to see a big man come in but can't complain........
the committment of Jones is just as big of a deal as getting a big guy. IU has two glaring needs: size and a true point guard - Jones fills one of those needs. without him, IU would probably have had Crawford (who has about a 1:15 A/TO ratio) starting at PG and Finklemeier splitting time off the bench.
hopefully this class is still not complete. i'd like to see sutton come aboard and even though i'm usually anti-juco, with this current situation they should try to add a temporary stop-gap post player.
sincerely...Brandon McGee
Now how about a reverse dunk!
He'll get playing time no matter where he goes, so that's not really a draw IU can use.
Especially for a team that doesn't really have time to wait for a project. If Sutton is a project, then by the time he gets ready to play at a decent level a guy like SVT would already be in the program.
Obviously I'm just going by reports and rankings, but it seems to me that the talent difference and expected level of impact are different enough between Morgan and Sutton that it would override fit.
I've read a lot of comments over the past month or so alluding to Crean's system not needing great big men, but I'm sure if you asked Crean he would find a way to fit a stud big man into his system.
I think how much of an impact Sutton would have is very debatable, especially as a freshmen and sophomore.
I was wondering if anyone knew if IU is still in the running for Ebanks? If the Hoosiers could land him again that would be lovely!!!
Keep up the good work coach Crean!
Ebanks is NOT coming to IU. He'll most likely end up at West Virginia or Memphis.
By the way wasn't V Jones a lock to go to Minnesota? .. just sayin!
