Inside the Hall: CBS Sports has lofty expectations for Hoosiers

I think Neitzel is a very good player and I love MSU's coach (his name slips my mind) BUT if I look at the supporting caste around him I would take the supporting caste around DJ first. I have seen Drew taken out of a games before with pressure D, so I feel strongly about IU finishing ahead of MSU this year.....

I've got no problem with Michigan State being picked first for two reasons.

    1. Tom Izzo is their coach. By my estimation, he's the best coach in the conference and his numbers in the NCAA Tournament back that up (24-9, .727 winning percentage, 4th among active coaches).

    2. Drew Neitzel has taken his game to the next level and he's a battle tested senior hungry to win the Big Ten.

    Big A-

How do you compare the supporting caste around Neitzel as opposed to IU around DJ?
  • Big A · 2 years ago
They have 3 incoming freshmen that are all 4-star recruits (Durrell Summers, Chris Allen and Kalin Lucas).

Inside, they return Suton, Gray and Naymick.

Travis Walton might be the best defensive point guard in the Big Ten.

And Raymar Morgan will be one of the five best players in the conference, IMO.

MSU needs offense from the frontline. If they don't get it, IU is a big favorite. Morgan is good but probably not 1st team all Big 10.IU has a much better inside/outside game .IF Bassett produces at point- IU will win the Big 10.

I think you both make good points and I agree with you that IU will win the Big Ten. However, I do understand the arguments that are made for Michigan State winning the conference.

I think it all comes down to who's freshman can handle the heat.IU has already played 10 games right? get DJ rolling and I dont think he can be stoped add Gordon and we could be talking about final 4
