  • could IU have possibly handled this any worse?

SEVEN hour delay on the original press conference time and everybody already knows what's going on. this makes our athletic department and administration look even worse.

i'm happy that Sampson is gone but i think we can all agree that this is a very sad day for Indiana basketball.
  • Yes, it's a sad day. I wish that Kelvin had been smarter or more slick or whatever it takes to not have this happen.

At the same time, the delay could have come while people were still trying to iron things out. That being said, every time one of these pressers was announced, they could have had someone come out, state that there was no news, and that when something was made official, they would announce it. Even no news would have been better than every news outlet reporting their own stories.
  • Those of you that have been staring at that empty table all day, may God have mercy on your souls.

    (Ahem, that's me too.)
  • Hey it's been fun....ok not really...
  • Glad to hear McCallum is sticking around..that makes me feel confident that the players will not walk out on the team...at least until the end of the season....
  • at least we can hope his kid comes here in 2010....
  • greenspan's lawyer looks like shit
  • I wonder what IU "can't say about Sampson" as a result of his agreement not to sue our asses....
  • I think McCallum is just sticking with the team for this season. Don't count on little Ray coming to town.
  • now that this is behind us... we have a great team with a tremedous amount of talent and i hope they all hope to play... its better for DJ to keep playing and his NBA prospects to get the props he deserves in awards at the end of the year
  • sorry if that doesnt make any sense i am reading and watching tv !!
  • hopefully our kids will realize that they have a real shot at doing great things for iu and more importantly for themselves . they are young and might not realize that this some of the greatest times that they will have in thier lives . They can really use this as a positive if they band together like they have in the past week .DJ and the other seniors really need to step up and pull this team together . Maybe they will realize that they are getting an education at a top notch institution to play ball , so be men , uphold your end of the deal and GO PLAY BALL .I would hate to see our guys sell themselves short on an opportunity ,because of something that they didn't create.
