Good, Bad and Ugly: Loyola (Md.)
If he did not have his dad's name then he would not play in the NBA at all.
Heck, Rod Wilmont is a much better player overall-at least he can score and get rebounds.
ITH Birthday :
This is the only site of any kind I participate in thanks to ITH and the contributors for making it a standard part of my day
Draft: Very interesting stuff , good luck to EJ, DJ and "loser" Pacers
Greenspan : I feel the additional charge by the NCAA was the last straw since this lands squarely on the AD. No matter what he had to go
NCAA: Addign this charge sets them up to spin any penalties as "institutional" and not really penalties on innocent players and coaches ( BS of course ) . Also it sounds like we have another hearing to answer this ????
Isn't Rivers a 2008 signee for scholarship purposes even though he can only play in '09 ?
I know both have their similarities (both 6'4" guards, Big 10 Freshman of the Year, set records in their college career, could shoot the ball rather well - 20 ppg, etc.).....but wasn't sure if there were any since Edwards to be drafted by the Clippers...
I think EJ has the desire to be successful...whether the Clippers do is another question.
Gordon: He'll be ok, maybe even be a starter in a few years but never reach the elite level. He couldn't dominate in college, he sure won't in the NBA.
White: Doubt he'll ever make the roster. He'll bounce around in the D league for a while and then disappear. Like the guy a lot but he's too slow and not athletic enough to make in the league.
On the Greenspan topic, good riddance he should have been fired long ago. I don't blame the NCAA, IU should have taken care of its own house but instead did nothing so the NCAA stepped in. IU's position was crazy, Sampson was 100% responsible for the whole mess and the university couldn't have done anything to prevent it...BS. Sampson may have been the main problem but the Athletic department did not do enough monitoring to ensure compliance.
