Inside the Hall: Around the Hall: Could IU go winless in the Big Ten?

If you haven't read it, click the Arman link and read the article on Hoosier Scoop. Very interesting. Hope things work out for AB in the end.

EJ sponsering a team is great but it will piss off a lot of the elite indiana people who cornered the market on talent....i.e. Speice!

Secondly to answer the question can IU go winless....I was talking to my wife about our plans in March this year and going on a little vacation, when it dawned on me that I have very little reason to watch selection sunday or the NCAA tourney this year......

IU will upset ONE team this year in Bloomington...more than likely Illinois or OSU....I don't think OSU is that good....

Kelin, Do you live in IN? If so, why not support Butler, ND or Purdue? These are teams that fit the mold of IU teams who I grew up watching? IU became popular nationally for getting the most out of their players and not having a "me first" attitude. The 2002 team was the last of these teams. Hopefully you will support teams within the state. And if you live in Indy go to Butler games. If IU wants to regain my support, they have to start winning the right way. All the best

    M--(nice name by the way)

I support Butler in the tourney because they are local here in Indy.....supporting Purdue is the 11th commandment and supporting ND is the 12th....

In all honesty, that is why I love "the state of Indiana" basketball. Fans are LOYAL and it is really part of our culture. I never went to IU, but my dad started me watching basketball with watching IU games on satelite and the rest is history. I could never cheer for Purdue EVEN if they went to the final four! NEVER

Butler does things the right way, play at a great gym, and have local kids BUT IU is IU and Butler is Butler. Debating a Purdue fan about the # of Horizon league titles BU has won is far different than debating the banners IU has hung....

    IU will be back....be patient

Reading Bassett's quote really upsets me. What he seems to look over is the fact that IU's fans and loyal supporters did nothing wrong while some awful decisions by several people associated with the team brought one of the greatest programs in the nation to its knees. IU's supporters did nothing wrong yet we get to share in the suffering.

I understand where you're coming from, but players don't think of fans as some group that is equally part of what they're doing. I know fans don't like to hear that, but it's true. Of course when things go great and a team wins a title they thank the fans, but generally players aren't sitting around thinking of how the fans work into their decisions.

This is completely off topic.... but I discovered today that you can buy dvds of old IU games. Sorry if you guys already knew about this but I had no idea it was even possible. Definitely buying '02 vs. Duke... probably won't cry this time though.

That AB article is worth a read.

Here's the crux of that article:

    "refused to accept Dakich’s punishment"

That's the whole ball of wax, kid. After all the dope smoking and class skipping, and the horrible pressure of having the entire university handed to you on a platter, you decided that some macho pride was more important to you than continuing to be a member of the IU family.

You traded your IU bball career for an extra hour of sleep. We all make mistakes, and that was yours.

Actually, I think AB comes off ok in tis article. Here's hoping he learned from his mistakes.

Yes. IU can go winless. But I will be watching and cheering for them every minute of every game I can. Its in my blood. So what if they go winless. It makes our comeback 2011 a lot sweeter.
