Alright, I'm sold on Cheek. The video that was posted finally showed at least a couple on ball defenders in Cheeks face. It seemed like he finished through his defender on a couple of possessions which really impressed me. I know Crean has done a great job getting guys to come, but eventually if we can land someone with the potential of BJ Mullens, then I think we could be on to something. I played against BJ, and that dude could jump, rebound, and score at will. Of course the biggest guys we had on our team we 6'6" and 6'5", but you could still tell he wasn't just a big goof. Someone of Cheek's caliber could attrack more big names to IU in a short amount of time, which is exactly what IU needs.

Am I the only one who is extremely surprised of the level of play in this video? If Cheek is truly a 5 star player, then why was he consistently getting wide open threes from the corner? Granted there is a fair amount of AAU games, but you think a coach would realize the kind of talent Cheek is and tell his best defensive player not to leave him. Unless there was another player on that teams in this video that are better then Cheek, it plain bothers me when I see pitiful defense like that.

I agree, do we really need another guard? I think not, this team needs bigs ... but it he is the best available then so be it. I just think the squad could use some big, athletic types ... JMO

I guess im supposed to be excited? It just looks like another highlight that i have seen from the millions of guards that have commited to the hoosiers. Can't we just get a big man to sign. I know he's good, but we don't need him. Please someone that is 6-11 and athletic with some skill come to IU! We desperately need u! For gods sake it's Jobe we r workin with!

He looks great really hope all this intrigue he seems to have for Indiana actually pans out and he signs up for the ride. He doesnt seem like he would be a 1 and done so that would really help out, and would make our team very athletic and skilled at the guard positions. Some of you may have a concern for this area in the post but we still have Pritchard who is a beast down low, Jobe looks like he has a phenominal basketball body and I think he will pan out well at IU and we still have Capo and Elston coming next year so our post presence will be just fine, not including any walkons. Devan Dumes is going to be a good PG and will help VJ3 get in shape and mold him into a PG and will help our team alot. If this guy commits the 09-10 season could be a lot better then what some of us like to think.

With a stellar bench crew including Elston, Rivers, Creek, Hulls, VJ3 could be a wonderful year for Indiana basketball.......i would personally rather have them go for the big man Derrrick Favors that dude is a monster....kind of like Amare Stoudemire. I could settle for a wonderful SG in Cheek though.

When he shoots the three he has a little kick in his legs after each shot. I wonder if that a means to seperate himself from a defender? Would that be considered an offensive foul to officials? i think I might be making too big a deal of it. He looks great though, and is not afraid to drive in. I would like to see him shoot more outside shots to get a better idea about his entire game.

Nice video and it appears he has offensive skills when he is not guarded. Hard to tell how good however as most videos only show shooting vs defense, loose balls, team play etc. Hope he gives us a good look
